Americo began his jewelry journey by learning the craft from his father starting at the tender age of 13. Ugo, was an Italian immigrant from a small town outside of Napoli Italy who honed his own bench skills in the old country. While other kids played games in their Brooklyn neighborhood, ‘Rico’ as friends and family nicknamed him; learned to pull wire by hand, precision cut precious metal plate and set diamonds as his fathers apprentice in NYC’s iconic Diamond District. After years of instruction and a respect for the old school techniques and craftsmanship of his father, Rico knew that he had found his passion at the bench and the family business begun. For a time they worked side by side, father and son, two generations built on tradition and talent.
In the early 2000’s Rico took over the business and put his own name on the door. In that time he has honed his skill set, becoming one of the most trusted high jewelers in New York. Sought out by the most glamorous and established jewelry houses to set their rarest stones, Rico has remained a hidden gem amongst the jewelry elite- until now.
The jewelry industry has been evolving rapidly over the last decade, embracing technology more and more specifically with e-commerce and computer aided design.
